Links takes its palette from the earth — tans, deep greens, and warm neutrals arranged into curved color-block panels that sweep across the body. The curves push back against the straight seam lines typical of outerwear construction, requiring careful pattern drafting and precise clipping to keep each transition clean and smooth.
The jacket was developed alongside a matching bottom by a collaborating partner, the color-blocking language shared across both pieces so they read as a single unified look when worn together.
Magnetic Snap Closures
The closures sit flush beneath the placket, with no buttons, zippers, or visible hardware interrupting the color-block panels. The jacket opens and closes cleanly, keeping the exterior surface uninterrupted.
Each curved seam was drafted from scratch, pinned, clipped, and pressed before assembly to prevent buckling along the bias. The curved color-block joins are among the more technically demanding seams in garment construction — even small inconsistencies in tension read on the finished surface.
The magnetic snaps were set into the lining and interfaced backing so the face fabric stays smooth. From the outside, the jacket closes with no visible closure — just the lines of the color blocking.
