Saddles — Patched Jacket

A Fall 2025 western wear jacket designed for XL–5X sizing. The Saddles Patched Jacket features paisley-print patchwork appliquéd across the front, back, and sleeves — developed through a full 18-page tech pack covering colorways, construction details, placement specs, and 3D virtual fitting.

Saddles is a big-and-tall western jacket built around patchwork as a design element rather than an afterthought. Olive paisley panels are applied across the chest, sleeves, and back in deliberate geometric arrangements, contrasting against a rich brown canvas base.

As tech designer, I was responsible for producing the construction spec package — translating the designer's vision into exact placement measurements, stitch types, seam allowances, and an order of operations for factory production. The jacket was also developed in CLO 3D for virtual fitting before any physical samples were cut.

The tech pack documents every production decision: nine colorways were developed (including Iron Indigo, Canyon Heat, and Rusted Saddle), along with a full bill of materials, finished garment measurements graded from XL to 5X, and detailed placement pages for each patch, pocket, and flap.

Construction callouts specified stitch types for every seam — 301 lockstitch for patch attachment, 304 for buttonholes, 514 overedge for cuff assembly — with SPI counts and fold/pleat instructions included at each step.
